A Note from our Director of Missions

Marshall Baptist Association
Who We Are

Marshall Baptist Association is made up of 104 churches and 4 mission churches under the watch care of the Association. We have three "Cowboy" churches, two Haitian churches and one Hispanic church. In the fifteen years that I have served as Director of Missions, I have seen Marshall Association create ministries that reach the needs of the community physically, while attempting to fulfill the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20.
Brother Charles Woods of Albertville First Baptist was led of the Lord to start the Great Physician's Clinic. This ministry helps people with their vision and dental needs, while staffed with local doctors in the area. Those who use our services are prayed for and ministered to before leaving the clinic at FBC Albertville.
Linda Henry started the Christian Women's Job Corp after moving back from South Alabama, where she was working with CWJC. Since the inception, she has started two sites in Marshall County, not to mention two second hand shops and a food distribution center. If you have a physical need, Linda Henry knows where to get it.
Marshall Baptist has an active Disaster Relief Team that goes wherever they are needed in times of storms. Al Reese is our coordinator. He and his wife Debbie do damage assessments all over the country, and coordinate the assignments for our teams as well as other associations. Many Bibles have been handed out and souls saved by the witness of these wonderful people.
Not only are we engaged physically in repairing peoples' property, but we also attempt to help repair their physical and spiritual lives. Through our Celebrate Recovery ministries and Pathway Christian Counseling ministries, we are actively attempting to create a holistic ministry for all that we minister to. Our churches requested a Christian counseling service, so we are staffed by Pathway Christian Counselling service through the Alabama Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries. Michael Bozeman comes to the Association office every Thursday and meets with clients who have set up an appointment through Pathways. You may call 256-504-9752 to make an appointment.
In this water recreational community, our Association has the Marshall Baptist Retreat Center, located in Guntersville. This is managed by our Director Phil Robeson and his wife, Emily, to present a Christian environment for all who attend. In the summer the camp is staffed for swimming, boating and a challenge course. The camp hosts "Church on the Lake" each Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is open year round for our churches to have camps, retreats, baptisms and fellowships.
The world has come to our area and Marshall Baptists are rising to the occasion to reach them with the Gospel. Our churches have adapted their styles of worship to reach our changing society, while keeping centered on the Word of God. If you are looking for a ministry to reach the young and older citizen, Marshall Association can give you a job! From "Room in the Inn" for the homeless, Back to School projects to supply our foster children with school supplies, Christmas Stores in Nursing Homes and the Baby Bible Ministry in local hospitals, we are attempting to gain an ear from those we come into contact with and then share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them. We are only limited by our imagination when it comes to ministering to our fellow man. Just as our VBS teams are trained and equipped to share the Word of God in unique ways every year, new ministries are formed every day with the express purpose of getting people to Jesus Christ.
All of these ministries are funded by our churches faithful financial support to the Marshall Baptist Association. What one church could not financially afford to do alone in ministry, ALL of us giving financially together can make a huge impact on reaching out to our communities with Christ's love. This is why it is so important that we ALL be faithful in our giving to the Marshall Baptist Association, so we can be faithful to the Great Commission. Won't you dream the dream with us at Marshall Baptist Association? Dream of seeing all of the souls we come in contact with hearing how they can be saved! This is home missions in our Jerusalem!
